Varanasi
Varanasi, also known as Banares and Kashi, is one of the oldest living cities of the world. The land of Varanasi has been the ultimate pilgrimage spot for Hindus for ages. Hindus believe that the one who dies on the land of Varanasi, attains salvation. The River Ganga (Ganges) in Varanasi is believed to have the power to wash away the sins of the pilgrims. The City is famous for Kashi Vishwanath Temple, a Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The city is also known for making Banaresi sarees, which are famous for their gold and silver zari, silk and hand weaving using the Tana-Bana(also known as Kabir Das's Tana-Bana).
